Refund Policy for Alkove AI

Effective Date: January 26, 2026

At Alkove AI, we strive to provide a seamless story generation experience. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which refunds for Credits may be issued, ensuring alignment with our Terms of Service (ToS) and applicable consumer protection laws.

1. General Principles & 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

In accordance with Section 5.2 of our ToS, we offer a 14-day Cooling-Off Period for your purchase.

  • Right of Withdrawal: You may request a full refund within fourteen (14) days of the purchase date, provided the services are "Not Used."
  • Definition of "Not Used": This means you have not consumed any Credits, generated any stories, or utilized any premium/subscriber-only features associated with that transaction.

2. Waiver of Refund Upon Use

Important: You expressly acknowledge and agree that once you commence use of the digital content, the service contract is deemed fully executed.

  • Once you consume a Credit (e.g., for story generation, editing, or unlocking templates), your right of withdrawal is extinguished.
  • No refunds will be granted after the service has commenced, even if the 14-day period has not yet expired.

3. Third-Party Store Purchases (Apple/Google)

If you purchased Alkove AI services via a third-party app store (e.g., Apple App Store or Google Play):

  • Direct Contact Required: Their specific refund policies apply. Alkove AI does not have the authority to process or reverse transactions made through these platforms.
  • Please contact the respective store's support to request a refund.

4. Non-Refundable Scenarios

Except as provided in the Cooling-Off Period, all purchases are final. We do not issue refunds for:

  • Subjective Dissatisfaction: AI generation is inherently experimental. Dissatisfaction with plot twists, writing style, or character logic does not qualify for a refund.
  • User Errors: Credits purchased for the wrong account or via the wrong social login. (We may, at our discretion, assist in transferring balance between verified accounts).
  • Policy Violations: Accounts suspended or terminated due to a breach of our ToS (e.g., generating prohibited content).
  • Virtual Item Nature: Per ToS 5.4, Credits are virtual items with no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash outside of this refund policy.

5. Technical Failures

If a confirmed technical error on our platform prevents you from accessing purchased services for more than 72 consecutive hours, and we cannot provide a timely fix, we may—at our sole discretion—provide a pro-rata refund or credit compensation.

6. Refund Process & Fees

Taxes & Fees: As per ToS 5.3, you are responsible for applicable taxes. Please note that third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe, Paddle) may retain non-refundable transaction fees, which may be deducted from your final refund where permitted by law.

Processing Time: Approved refunds are typically processed within 7–10 business days via the original payment method.

7. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from this policy shall be governed by the jurisdiction and dispute resolution terms specified in the Alkove AI Terms of Service.
