Welcome to Alkove AI. Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully as they govern your access to and use of the website, software application, browser-based interface, and related products known as "Alkove AI" (collectively, the "Services" or the "Tool").

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between Jialong Studio, operating as Alkove AI (“we,” “us,” or the “Service Provider”), and you (“User” or “you”). By clicking “I Agree,” registering for an account, or accessing the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: THESE TERMS CONTAIN DISCLAIMERS OF WARRANTIES (SECTION 7), LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY (SECTION 8), AND A MANDATORY ARBITRATION PROVISION (SECTION 11). PLEASE READ THEM CAREFULLY.
1.1 Agreement. By accessing or using the Tool, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must immediately cease using the Services.
1.2 Age Requirement. You represent that you are at least 16 years of age (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Services.
1.3 Lawful Use. You agree to use the Tool only for lawful purposes. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Tool, including the stories you create and the AI services you connect to, complies with all applicable local, state, and national laws.
2.1 The "Tool" Definition. Alkove AI acts strictly as a front-end software interface (a "client") that enables users to structure story inputs (via "Story Cards") and interact with third-party Artificial Intelligence models ("AI Providers") directly from the User's browser.
2.2 “Bring Your Own Key” (BYOK) & Client-Side Execution.
2.3 User Responsibility for Third-Party Costs and Functionality. You are solely responsible for obtaining valid API access from AI Providers. You agree to pay all fees charged by such third-party AI Providers for your usage. Alkove AI is not responsible for any costs, usage limits, account bans, API deprecations, or service interruptions caused by your AI Provider.
3.1 Account Creation. To access certain features of the Tool, you may be required to register an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.
3.2 Account Security. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials. You accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
4.1 Ownership of the Tool. The interface, software code, design, graphics, and trademarks of Alkove AI are owned exclusively by Jialong Studio. Providing access to the Tool does not sell the software to you; it grants a revocable, limited license to use the Tool.
4.2 Team-Provided Content. Jialong Studio retains all intellectual property rights to any "Story Examples" or "Boilerplate Content" provided within the Tool. You are granted a limited license to use this content for personal writing purposes but may not redistribute it as a standalone product.
4.3 Ownership of User Content & Outputs.
5.1 No Cloud Storage of Content. As a privacy-focused tool, Alkove AI does not backup, sync, or store your stories, characters, or chat histories on our cloud servers. Your data exists solely on your specific device and browser.
5.2 Risk of Data Loss. You acknowledge that clearing your browser cache/cookies, using "Incognito/Private" mode, changing browsers, or experiencing a device failure may result in the PERMANENT LOSS of your stories and settings. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR EXPORTING AND BACKING UP YOUR DATA VIA THE TOOL'S EXPORT FUNCTION. WE CANNOT RECOVER LOST DATA UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
You agree NOT to use the Services to:
7.1 “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
7.2 AI Output and Dependency Disclaimer.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JIALONG STUDIO AND ALKOVE AI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Alkove AI and Jialong Studio from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) the content you input into or generate via the Tool; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights or applicable laws.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease.
11.1 Governing Law. These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
11.2 Arbitration. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be settled by binding arbitration administered by the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).
11.3 Class Action Waiver. You agree that any proceedings to resolve a dispute will be conducted on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of these Terms. Continued use of the Services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
